Earlier this afternoon Apple held a press conference to announce the release of the long awaited, next generation Apple Watch. Met by much fanfare and the typical excitement that an Apple unveiling generates, The Apple Watch seems to be another surefire hit for the California based tech giant. Available in three models, the Watch Sport, Watch and Watch Edition will be priced at $350, $550 and $10,000 respectively. With a preorder date of April 10th, 2015 and release date of April 24th, 2015 set, the question is which one will you choose? Athletes such as marathon and distance runners might be more amenable to the Sport, which features an anodized aluminum case, Ion-X glass and colorful fluoroelastomer band. The Watch version, which features a stainless-steel case, sapphire crystal and a selection of both leather and steel bands, are a more stylish option for the gent that wants something a bit more classic on his wrist. If money is no object and you’re looking to get the absolute top of the line, then the 18-karat yellow or rose gold cased Watch Edition is the one for you. Built as the ultimate companion piece for your iPhone, the Apple Watch also allows you to answer phone calls and texts, check emails, browse through Instagram, hail a cab with Uber and comes equipped with an Activity app that provides a breakdown of your daily fitness levels. Billing this new addition as their most personal device yet, today’s release marks Apple’s first entry into smart watch territory. Whether it lives up to the hype or not still remains to be scene, but we are definitely excited to get our hands on one next month when it drops.
