EDITOR’S RATING

Extremely light and very fruit, Destino is easy to drink and superbly refreshing.

Last year we did a review of a really great bottle of Malbec Rosé from producers Chateau Famaey. As we looked for a new bottle of Rosé to review for this go round, we stumbled onto another Malbec Rosé from Rutini Wines. This 2019 bottle of Destino Rosé de Malbec hails from Mendoza, Argentina and is produced using the Provençal method. We could not find a lot of specifics on Destino even on the Rutini website, but it does have an alcohol volume of 13% and low acidity. This Rosé de Malbec is crisp and extremely light.  It is very fruity with hints of vanilla and strawberries present and is so light that it can almost be described as drinking great tasting fruit flavored water. We’re not certain what the suggested pairings are, but this was tried with pasta and it was vey complimentary. While not as good as the Chevalier Famaey, it is still a good pick for the price point ($11) and would be very complimentary for a day in the park.
