The highly rated Alamos Malbec is light, fruity, delicious and the perfect bottle to keep in your wine rack.

It’s been a while, but now we’re back and for this installment we review a 2014 bottle from Alamos. So normally when we write Malbec reviews we use the manufactures website as a reference for certain information such as acidity and alcohol content, but since this is a 2014 bottle it’s probably going to take some time before they update the information online. However we’re still going to provide as much information as possible along with any other relevant feedback. Manufactured by the Alamos winery in Mendoza, Argentina, the vineyards have been cultivated by the Catena family for the past century. Upon opening the bottle I detected a very strong yet smoky smell. The first sip was light, very soft, and not overpowering at all which gave me the impression that the alcohol content was not that strong. While there was some slight bitterness, I was able to detect some very fruity undertones. As I mentioned this was not a very powerful selection and is the perfect bottle to unwind with. The suggested pairings by Alamos are grilled meats and vegetables and I could tell that it would complement them very well. All in all it’s an excellent bottle to add to the wine rack and at a price south of $15 it’s a great buy.

Update: The alcohol content for Alamos Malbec is 13.50 with an acidity of 5.22.
