When it comes to travel, finding a suitable hotel can be a difficult thing. Hotels naturally post the most beautiful and extravagant photos online to draw you in, but once you arrive it can be a different story altogether. Reviews on third party websites are not always that accurate and recommendations can be the same, especially if they are coming from a colleague that doesn’t share a similar sense of taste. Sometimes you have to just roll the dice and go on blind faith. I did this on a past trip to California and hit the jackpot big time at Hyatt The Pike Long Beach.
Located in downtown Long Beach right across from The Pike (a dining and entertainment district) The Hyatt’s simple outside makes way for a beautiful inside. The boutique hotels décor in the entry and halls is an eye-catching mixture of chic with a South Beach vibe. One of my absolute favorite parts of this hotel is simply the room itself. The Hyatt fully maximizes the space in each room giving you a wonderful, even balance of comfort and style. Even the bathrooms are spacious with a large shower that includes rainfall showerheads and a bath bench. Looking for something to do? How about grabbing a drink at the Bay Street Bar or a bite at the Bay Street Kitchen which are both conveniently located in the lobby, or head upstairs to the rooftop pool for some sun, swim and a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. The friendly staff, convenient parking and multiple surrounding entertainment options just add to an already great experience. So whether you’re travelling for business or looking for some low-key relaxation, The Hyatt The Pike Long Beach delivers the goods. Welcome to the A List.
