I love brunch. I look forward to Sundays because I get to experience a brand new journey with food. Exploring new places to dine is a favorite past time of mine, but some days you just want to go with the old fashion favorites that never seem to disappoint. One of these favorites is the West Village’s Latin kitchen Yerba Buena. Opened in 2009 by Chef Julian Medina and partner Christopher Gilman, Yerba Buena Perry is the sister to the original location on Avenue A in the East Village. Featuring signature cocktails that take a cool spin off the namesake, each drink is made with the Latin herb yerba buena. The restaurant itself invokes a vintage 1950’s Cuban feel, with a cuisine that infuses Peruvian, Cuban, Argentinian, Columbian, Mexican and Spanish flavors. The outcome is a choice of delicious menu options that all happen to hit the mark. The Green Chile Burger is an excellent choice for burger aficionados out there, while the Arepas and the Sandwich Cubano have authentic latin flavors that make the mouth water. One of the better offerings is the sweet and savory Pan Dulce; their version of French toast with a latin twist. And how could we forget about the unlimited cocktails? Yerba Buena allows you to interchange drinks in order for you to fully enjoy the spirit options. Try a classic Mimosa, Brazilian Belini, Pisco, or the Sangria to really booze your brunch up. Yes there are tons of places to enjoy brunch in the city, but one of the best is Yerba Buena. Welcome to the A List.
