New York City. An overflowing melting pot of different cultures that supply life, character, and most importantly delicious cuisines to the concrete jungle we call home. One of the most popular cuisines in New York not surprisingly is Chinese, which can be hit or miss depending on where you choose to go. However the one place that never seems to miss is the West Village gem, Sammy’s Noodle Shop and Grill.
Describing itself as a Chinese, Dim Sum and Barbecue restaurant, the quaint look of Sammy’s may throw one off a bit. The outside storefront is very plain and could lead you to walk right past if you aren’t paying close attention, while the bland, uninspiring decor of the interior leaves a lot to be desired. However food is the name of the game and Sammy’s excels in every way. Selecting a preferred dish from the vast menu can become a fun endeavor as you try to choose on option while being pleasantly distracted by customers receiving their orders.
If an appetizer is what you crave, the tasty scallion pancakes and absolutely delicious pork buns are guaranteed to satisfy. If you want to jump right into an entree, try the thick savory noodles of the ever popular Lo Mein or classic flavor from the Chicken and Broccoli. Both are customer favorites according to the staff, but no choice is a bad one as the huge portions, low prices and great taste give you an excellent bang for your buck. If you’re all about ambiance and beautiful decor then this may not be your cup of tea, but if you can appreciate great service and love high quality Chinese food, then Sammy’s Noodle Shop and Grill is not only the place to be, but also one of the best in town. Welcome to the A List.
